The Swachhata-MoHUA app is the official app of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India. It allows citizens to report civic-related issues, such as garbage dumps, which are then forwarded to the appropriate city corporation and assigned to the corresponding sanitary inspector. The app has been developed by IChangeMyCity, a division of Janaagraha, a non-profit organization based in Bengaluru that aims to improve the quality of life in India's cities and towns.

How does it work?

<ol>
 <li>Take a picture of the civic-related issue using your smartphone.</li>
 <li>Choose one of the following categories:</li>
 <ul>
 <li>Garbage dump</li>
 <li>Garbage vehicle not arrived</li>
 <li>Dustbins not cleaned</li>
 <li>Sweeping not done</li>
 <li>Dead animals</li>
 <li>Public toilet(s) cleaning</li>
 <li>Public toilet(s) blockage</li>
 <li>No water supply in public toilet(s)</li>
 <li>No electricity in public toilet(s)</li>
 </ul>
 <li>The app will automatically capture the location while taking the picture. Simply type in the landmark of the complaint location.</li>
 <li>The complaint will then be assigned to the relevant sanitary inspector/engineer.</li>
</ol>

You can also vote for other relevant complaints. You will receive regular updates on the status of your complaint through push notifications, along with an "Resolved" image uploaded by the assigned sanitary inspector/engineer. If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you can reopen the complaint.

New features:

 <li>If you are not satisfied with your posted complaint, you can now edit or delete it. You can also upload photos from your phone's gallery and add the complaint's location in our Swachhata app.</li>
 <li>Engineers can now log in to the Swachhata-MoHUA app.</li>
</ol>
